Thank you Anita. I really believe that to successfully take a photo of serenity, you have have to feel it when you take it. Otherwise, the artist's photo will taint the photo and the serenity will not come through.

Absolutely beautiful shot .....

I like their gardens ... and this one is no exception .....

I like how the japanese gardens are done
with small paths with that turn and twist .. brings you round ponds and
lakes .... and new wonders such as art-sculptures .... new flower beds
etc.

Here you have a perfect shot of a pond ..... with that little thing out there
I assume it is small ..... or am I fooled .. ? The shot is taken so you can
be in doubt if this is people size or if it is a minuature garden we are
looking at ...

Hmmm after looking again ... it is maybe big ... and people can go inside
that little black thing ?

It is a lovely picture .. and I really like it a lot !

That is an excellent point you brought up. Japanese landscape art often has people far in the background and the landscape in the foreground. My photo excludes people, thus, the viewer
cannot discern the size of the objects. The item you mentioned is about the size of a parrot
cage. A human would have a difficult time getting into it.
Also, the reason I've excluded people is because most of the people visiting were tourists who
were rushing and not really contemplating. Only in the one with the monks did I find sufficient
tranquility to include the people.
I really treasure your extensive commentary. I've learned from it.

Oh I perfectly understand why you try not to have people in the picture
I do exactly the same. Maybe you do not know it ... but I photograph a
lot myself. It is like if you want a picture of a building, landscape, sunset
you do not like people in it to interfere ..... Of course if it is the people
or a person that is the focal point ... then they are welcome ...

I understand however why you wanted the monks in the other picture
they added to it ... and fit the landscape ...

So I am sure we are on the same page here

You are so very welcome
