Kegon No Taki
The 97m tall Kegon Waterfall 華厳滝 (kegon no taki) has been a traditional place for lovers with no prospect of marriage to commit suicide. These falls are located in Nikko, Japan. The falls look misty because of the enormous amount of water constantly sprayed into the air. Every few seconds I had to wipe the water off the lens. Watch out for the monkeys as they love to snatch anything they can from unwary tourists, like handbags, cameras or wallets. They can also be aggressive, so keep your distance and do not try to feed them or attract their attention. I found myself face-to-face two times with them. Fortunately, my camera strap was always wrapped around my neck. [link] Journal [link] More Japanese Photos |
