I love those old steam engines. They were totally self-contained. Even the tools they used ran off of steam. There was no limit to what they could do...................Then, along comes progress!! What a shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:mwahaha: Never be afraid to try something new!! .........Remember, amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic:mwahaha:

What I love about these old fashioned trains is that you can enjoy the beautiful sceneries more... cuz they're not as fast as the bullet trains... And you can also feel like you're in the old western days just like in the cowboy movies...

Don't let anybody put you down. If you see someone better than you, be inspired and don't quit. We may never be as good as them, but we each have our own technique we're good at..... Keep drawing.

I'm glad you noticed the angle Anita. I figured that a shot from an ordinary vantage point would be pretty mundane. So, a shot taken from a tree would stand out. Thank you!

Most welcome Andy! Since I've gotten more into photography recently, I'm well aware of the importance of angles - that can make or break a shot - and how hard it is to figure of the best angle! I love the old trains, and yes...I can remember them as a very little kid! :D

Yes. It is a shame. There are some steam engines still running. I found one at the Grand Canyon, one at Humbolt County in the Redwood forest, and one by Vancouver Canada. Thanks for the fave!

Yes. I don't always want to go from point A to point B at the speed of light. Thanks for the fave!

In that era, people used to wave to the engineer as the train went by. I remember one stopping and letting me have a short ride. That would not happen today.
