Problem with DeviantArt

DeviantArt thumbnails and images have been loading as slow as sap from a maple tree in Winter. Have any of you noticed this? Or is it just me? I've been having to log in at 3 in the morning to be able to see the art work and read my messages.

My Hiking Friend, Robin, Had a Close Call (Click on image for details)

Early this month, Robin, my hiking friend, suddenly came down with a life-threatening pulmonary embolism and was in critical care unit at the hospital for several days. No one knows what caused it. She's one of the most physically fit persons I know. This only goes to show how fragile any of us can be at any moment. She is alright now.

I've Been Staining My Stairway

When I first had a contractor build these wooden Mangaris stairs to my specifications, people would approach the house and take photographs. Over the last three years, the stain has been fading. So, I've been staining the stairway in sections. Vicki Banks offered great tips. Hopefully, people will begin to photograph them again!

My wife wore this beautiful kimono, obi, and geta (sandals) we purchased in Japan. Although the hair is suppose to be higher on the head, it is usually worn lower by older women.

I created them because my wife was complaining that I don't display enough "emotions." So, I wanted her to know I have some emotional responses to events that happen during the day. My Friend Natalia Took My Costume Photos at a Halloween festival before it opened to the public. We sneaked in the back and took photos for 10 minutes before we were discovered. The security guards chased us out because we were using an SLR camera.
